JSS Conduit

The JSS Conduit is an application that exports inventory data from the JSS to other system management tools. The JSS Conduit first imports data from the JSS, then uses plug-ins to export the data into external resources or tools. You can use the JSS Conduit to run this process manually, or configure it to run on an automated schedule.

• How does the JSS Conduit relate to the Casper Suite? The JSS Conduit is a companion application that is used to export data out of the JSS and into other tools or resources.
• How are plug-ins used in conjunction with the JSS Conduit? Plug-ins mimic the data structure of other tools, allowing the data to be ported in from the JSS Conduit. The plug-in is designed specifically for the data structure of the target resource, ensuring that data is mapped correctly.
• What plug-ins are available for the JSS Conduit? The JSS Conduit currently has one plug-in that exports inventory data to Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
• How does the JSS Conduit utilize the JSS API? The JSS Conduit is made possible by the JSS API, an intuitive and secure method for interacting with objects in the JSS based on the REST standards framework. JAMF Software has developed the JSS Conduit using the same API that is accessible to third-party developers.
• Is installation assistance or support available for the JSS Conduit? The JSS Conduit ships with extensive documentation and installation instructions. For customers who may require additional assistance, the JAMF Software Expanded Services group will provide a complimentary hour of remote installation service. Additional support is also available on a per incident basis.
• Is it possible to create new plug-ins for other systems management tools? Yes, it is possible for third-party developers to create plug-ins using the JSS API.
